Welcome To ‘Purposeful Health’

I’m really excited to start ‘Purposeful Health’ – a Blog that will help us to nurture and nourish ourselves in a purposeful manner

As ‘Purposeful Me’ approached its second birthday, I thought of other areas that could benefit from us being purposeful.

So welcome to a new section of the website focused on Purposeful Health. Here I will share my thoughts on all things related to health as well as exciting and healthier recipe ideas to get you to optimum health.

This has been on my mind for a while, especially after going back to the gym following an eighteen-year break and seeing the benefit of that to my health.

Also taking a purposeful approach to what I eat and drink has made a massive difference to how I feel and look.

I tried on some clothes recently not expecting to get into them and to my utter shock and delight, I got into them all.

That was the reward for being purposeful about my health over the past ten months. It has been a slow and steady progression and I am excited to see what the next year will bring.

In recent years and months, I have had work colleagues, friends and family members diagnosed with cancer, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, early on-set heart and liver diseases.

Everywhere I look, I see people suffering from effects of stress and other mental health issues as well as dealing with elderly parents while trying to raise a family, run a business or build a career.

Our health demands urgent attention and the only way to improve our odds against these life threatening issues is for us to be more purposeful in how we approach all things relating to our health.

We have been given one body for our life’s journey and it can help us or hinder us from achieving our purpose.

So how do we purposefully make our body – spirit, soul and mind – work to its optimum capacity? This is what this new Blog will be addressing going forward.

I will share my thoughts on changes that are helping me as well as food and recipe ideas to help improve our health.

I am not a health expert but I care about my health and that of others so I hope you will join me in exploring this new area of focus.
