Faith, Hope and Love
Faith, hope and love are words we use often; sadly they can lose their weightiness if we are not careful. We use these words liberally but sometimes our actions, choices and decision speak otherwise.
These words have taken on a whole new meaning for me lately. They apply to everyone and we must have them ‘all’ to be able to accomplish anything that is worthwhile or significant.
Faith
We must have faith to get through every challenges that come our way. Many struggles that we will face will require a lot of faith in our abilities, faith in others and faith in the supernatural – the things we can’t explain away.
Faith in a better future keeps us going and hopeful, faith in humanity helps us to look out for the best in others and faith in ourselves encourages us to never give up.
Someone recently gave me some feedback and told me to believe in myself. I thought I did but it was good to be reminded that I can be better at doing it.
It was something I needed to hear to step up to a higher level of performance, so I took it to heart and was amazed that I could dig even deeper. I found out that I still had a lot more to give.
Hope
Without hope, all is lost and there is no longer a desire to keep going. Hope gets us up each new day and gives us the strength to keep going. Hope helps us to picture a better day and stay the course until that day becomes a reality.
What is our hope? That is a question we must always ask and answer.
What is your hope for your new venture, job, baby or relationship? Answering this gives you a starting point for your planning to make that hope a reality.
Do you hope for a successful career? If so, what needs to happen for the hope to become a reality; what choices or sacrifices do you need to make? Do you hope for a better future for your children and if so, are your choices reflecting that?
If you hope for better finances but keep making poor financial decisions, what would be the point of hoping?
Hope helps you to create a template for the future that you want.
Love
The Bible says the greatest of the trio of ‘Faith, Hope and Love’ is Love.
Love helps you to endure and it’s not without hard work, disappointments, pain, sadness and for some fear of being disappointed or getting hurt.
I look at people in certain careers like chefs, nurses, transport workers, care home workers, teachers, space engineers and many other industries; you realise there is a depth of love that compels people to work in industries with 18 hour days, long periods away from loved ones and taking risks.
Love is what keeps them on that hard road towards success and even when there are bumps on the road, love keeps them going.
I am inspired by people who after accidents have rebuilt their lives and retrained to continue in the industry they love.
I watched a documentary of a world renowned chef who fell out of love with his craft and he made the drastic decision to shut down his restaurant to rediscover his joy, love and passion. He was willing to take the risk just so he could bounce back. What are you willing to do for what you truly love?
As a new week starts, I am taking these words with me to face yet another challenging week and by the end of the week I intend to still be standing full of – – Faith, Hope and Love – – ready for what comes next.
I hope you will join me in making this commitment and keeping this promise to yourself. Have a wonderful week and please share this post with others.

I struggled a lot this year with my health, but it was faith in the healing powers of God that helped me through. Even though I lost focus and got distracted, the love I have for this desired career kept propelling me to do more. I’m hoping to do more in the new year in my personal, career, spiritual, health, and fitness goals but I’m not waiting till January, I’m starting this month. My prayer is that I won’t loose hope when the journey gets tough.
Thank you for sharing Sister Yemi, have a blessed week filled with faith, hope, and love.
