For many people, Easter weekend is an opportunity to enjoy a long break from work, spend more time with loved ones or indulge in Easter specialties like hot cross buns, Easter eggs and Easter Sunday dinner. For others it’s about the window decorations, the celebration of all things pastel and the open door into spring and more sunshine.

For Christians who celebrate Easter, the celebration means so much more. It is a celebration of the power of love, endurance and forgiveness. It’s a sad and painful story of love, betrayal, despondency and forgiveness but with a happy ending – the kind that wonderful movies are made of.

As we bask in the warmth of Easter’s glow, let’s not just revel in the chocolate eggs and pastel colours but delve deeper into the profound message of renewal and hope that Easter brings.
