The End of a Chapter: PurposefulMe Blog’s Final Post
Seven years ago, I embarked on a journey of sharing my learnings and insights with the world through the PurposefulMe Blog. It was a leap of faith after leaving my 18-year career in banking, a step into the unknown driven by the desire to help everyone become the best versions of themselves.
I thought it would only go on for a year or two; maximum three years scared I would run out of topics to write about. With c400 posts over the years, the blog has served as a platform for sharing tools, tips, and strategies that apply project management principles and other learnings to everyday life.
The goals were simple: help readers understand they were fearfully and wonderfully created, discover their purpose, become better versions of themselves and treat their ambitions as projects to execute with purpose and precision.
But now, after much reflection and prayer, I know this is the right time to pivot. The blog has served its purpose, and I’ve shared enough information to inspire lasting transformation. There’s a phrase that recently challenged me:
“Information without application is mental overload.”
I believe this wholeheartedly. While I will no longer publish written weekly posts, the purpose and heart behind this platform remain alive and strong. This is not goodbye—it’s the beginning of something new.
Why I’m Pivoting
Over the seven years, I’ve poured my heart into PurposefulMe, covering every topic I felt could equip, encourage, and empower us. But I recognise that consuming content isn’t enough; transformation happens when we apply what we’ve learned. And I believe it’s time for a fresh approach.
For years, I’ve shared insights on how to dream boldly, set goals, and face life’s challenges with resilience. I’ve encouraged you to celebrate small wins, find joy in the journey, and live with gratitude. Now, I want to take these timeless lessons into a new format—one that invites deeper connection and engagement.
Starting in the new year, I’ll be transitioning the blog’s content into a vlog format on YouTube, available on my channel PurposefulMe
This will allow me to revisit the wealth of content presenting it in fresh and visual ways. Many of you may have missed earlier posts, so this will be your chance to catch up and apply these lessons to your lives.
If you’ve been inspired by PurposefulMe, I encourage you to subscribe to the channel and continue the journey with me there. Please invite others along.
My Food Journey and the Beauty of New Beginnings
As many of you know, in 2022, I had the honour of being a semi-finalist and finishing in the top six of MasterChef UK. That experience opened up another avenue of purpose in my life including my own weekly food column (Yemi’s Food Stories) leading to my food-focused Instagram: @yummy_bydesign, and YouTube channel Yummy by Design
This has been a reminder that purpose evolves, and when one chapter closes, a new one begins. The lessons from the PurposefulMe Blog—about perseverance, growth, and resilience—remain just as relevant in this new venture. I would appreciate your support on these new channels as I focus on them in the new year.
Powerful Tips for a Purposeful New Year
As we close out this chapter and step into 2025, here are five timeless tips to make the new year your most purposeful yet:
Dream Big, But Start Small
Break your goals into manageable steps. Progress, no matter how small, builds momentum.
Cultivate Gratitude
Gratitude transforms our perspective, helping us focus on abundance instead of lack. Start each day by noting three things you’re grateful for. Start by appreciating the gift of each new day.
Be Intentional About Your Time
Your time is your most precious resource. Prioritise tasks that align with your goals and values and learn to say no to distractions. Remember the biggest time stealer is mindless scrolling on gadgets.
Invest in Your Growth and take chances
Read, learn, and seek out challenges that stretch you. Growth doesn’t happen in comfort zones.
Celebrate Progress
Don’t wait for the big wins to celebrate. Find joy in the small victories and let them fuel your journey. The new year is a blank canvas. What will you paint on it? What masterpiece will be painted, by your Creator, with you as the subject? it?
